Plathoender met feta, kruie & songedroogde tamaties

Plathoender met feta, kruie & songedroogde tamaties

Kyk, party bestanddele is nou maar eenmaal ’n wonderlike kombinasie, soos vars kruie en suurlemoen. Of basiliekruid en tamatie. Sit nou ’n bietjie fetakaas by en almal gaan hul lippe aflek.

Pulled pork with sage, apples & pears

Pulled pork with sage, apples & pears

Flavours that you remember for a very long time – that’s true of this lovely winter recipe. I developed this recipe a few years ago to show how easy and delicious it is to use Cecilia’s Farm dried fruit when cooking. This has remained one of my huge favourites. I hope you and your family will enjoy it as much as we still do.

Roasted pitas with tomato & corn

Roasted pitas with tomato & corn

Roasted pitas are a game-changing recipe. One evening my kids were in the mood for pizza, but there was just not enough time to make the dough. We cut open pitas to use as the pizza base and they were very impressed with this quick fix. Just don’t use too many toppings as it will become too heavy for the pita bases. The spices in the tomato sauce are something special and the combination of corn, tomato and cheese is so tasty. These pitas are perfect for a weekend or holiday treat and even work well as a snack around the braai.

Lemon & pea risotto with chicken

Lemon and peas are delicious together and, in this risotto, you can see why.
Risotto is a popular Italian rice dish that can be served as a starter, main course or side dish. Arborio rice is a short grain rice and gives this dish its typical creamy, soft texture. Stock is gradually stirred into the rice so that it can cook slowly, but it should not be cooked until it is completely soft. This simple combination is divine and can be enjoyed as a main meal or light meal without the chicken.

Koue tamatiesop (Gazpacho)

Koue tamatiesop (Gazpacho)

Pasta with eggs & green beans

Pasta with eggs & green beans

If you do not like green eggs and ham… why not try green beans and eggs.
Carbonara is a delicious and very popular pasta sauce, with egg as the main ingredient and often lots of cream and bacon added. I enjoy this simpler version, which is lighter and so quick and easy to put together. You could even serve it as a starter. Asparagus spears are delicious with eggs, but thin green beans or any other green veggies will be as good in this dish.
