Pink Lady® Apple tart

Pink Lady® Apple tart

How can I best describe this apple tart? Caramelised apple wedges with honey, a touch of lemon, cranberries and a delicate combination of spices. But that’s not it yet – it all sits on an almond and butter layer, wrapped in a light and crisp butter pastry. Absolutely delicious. This Pink Lady® apple tart is one of the best I have ever made (and eaten). Yes, it’s a bit of extra work, but oh, so worth it.

Phyllo pie with bacon & butternut/ Filopastei met spek & botterskorsie

Phyllo pie with bacon & butternut/ Filopastei met spek & botterskorsie

A pie is the ultimate comfort food. In this recipe I use bacon, which is quite salty, but the rest of the seasonings are all natural and fresh. The filling of butternut, bacon, sage and leeks is really special. And in this recipe, it’s really easy to use the phyllo – something a lot are hesitant to work with. Just follow the easy steps in this recipe for a fabulous supper. All you’ll still need, is a big green salad!

Carrot stew with star anise

Carrot stew with star anise

The hearty stew uses basic ingredients, with the addition of whole star anise to give it an aromatic flair. Star anise is delicious with both carrots, cabbage and beef or pork. One could easily play with different spices to ring the changes. Cumin seeds or even whole cloves and all spice berries are good options, or use a Chinese five spice mixture instead.
