Three bean salad

Three bean salad

If you’ve been invited to a truly South African braai, you probably had three bean salad. This is my twist on a classic which I developed for AMC Cookware. Homemade is best – you’ve heard that so many times, but for this salad it is absolutely true. You can find three bean salads in tins, jars and even boxes, but this fresh take is so worth it!

Avocado caprese

Avocado caprese

A showstopper! Enjoy a synergy of flavours like no other! This avocado caprese builds on the famous combination of tomatoes, basil and soft cheese. The creaminess of avocado is just perfect with the acidity of the tomatoes and Westfalia’s Lemon Flavoured Avocado Oil.

Avocado & berry salad

Avocado & berry salad

Impress everyone around your table with this colourful and festive salad. The sweet, juicy berries go so well with creamy avocado and the nutty flavour of toasted macadamia nuts. A homemade dressing turns any salad into a scrumptious, elegant side dish. This dressing uses a combination of Westfalia Plain and Lemon Flavoured Avocado Oil with wholegrain mustard and fresh thyme. Serve on a large platter or in individual jars to pack for an outdoor meal.

Refreshing Pink Lady® Apple & fennel pickle

Refreshing Pink Lady® Apple & fennel pickle

A flavourful dressing can add a punch of flavour to any fresh ingredients. The vinegar and oil mixture with honey, herbs and mustard is a delicious combination. Leaving the apple, fennel and cabbage in this dressing, allows them to pickle slightly. This fresh acidity combined with Pink Lady® Apples creates a perfectly balanced side dish to elevate any meal.

Tuisgemaakte vars pasta

Tuisgemaakte vars pasta

Waatlemoen, kruisement-&-fetaslaai

Waatlemoen, kruisement-&-fetaslaai

Onthou jy dié kindertyd-raaiselrympie? ‘So groen soos gras, so wit soos was, so rooi soos bloed, so suikersoet – wat is dit?’

Basil & tomato salad

Basil & tomato salad

There are few ingredients that demonstrate the flavour-synergy (one plus one equals more than two) as well as basil and tomato. This combination is perfect as a salad, but do also try it on a sandwich.

Savoury rice with nuts

Savoury rice with nuts

Savoury rice can turn a simple piece of chicken or fish into a special meal. Choose any rice you like, although basmati rice is my favourite in this dish, as the aromatic flavours, spices and nuts work very well together. Basmati rice cooks much quicker, than plain white rice.
